The England manager has opted to stick with the same Three Lions selection that secured victory against their previous opponents and delivered an impressive display in Belgrade last month, finding no place for Jude Bellingham and the Manchester City attacker in his group for the forthcoming exhibition match against the Welsh side and the World Cup qualifier in Latvia.

Despite Phil Foden making a strong case for a recall after rediscovering his form at his club, and Jude Bellingham having made a comeback for his Spanish club following shoulder surgery, the national team manager has decided against selecting two of the country's biggest offensive stars. Bellingham has been in the starting lineup just a single time for his team since his comeback.

The England boss has made room for the Arsenal winger, who is back to fitness and has been reinstated in place of his unavailable club colleague the sidelined player. The experienced attacker has not been handed a return to the squad.

The national team coach highlighted the vibrancy in the previous selection and appears determined to maintaining the vibe. Tino Livramento, who featured at the defensive flank in the 5-0 win in Serbia, has been ruled out due to a knock. Tuchel has not called up a like-for-like substitute for the Newcastle player but has included the Manchester City defender, who had to pull out last month. He has discussed the centre-back's significance for the national team and has floated the idea of deploying him in the middle of the park.

There is no place for Adam Wharton, who was selected in the previous squad but withdrew injured and was replaced by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The manager stated: “A mere three weeks since the previous gathering and the last win, the latest display, so the consideration was why not select the same group in because they set the standard. The focus now is on building routines out of it. We have regrettably a couple of fitness issues at the moment with Livramento and Noni and we bring of course Bukayo Saka in to take the place of Noni. Jarell Quansah was a late call-up previously; he will stay in camp.”
