Skydance Paramount Plans to Eliminate Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – Update
Skydance Paramount will start large-scale job cuts during the week starting 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 positions in the United States within a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.
These job cuts come after the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August valued at $8.4bn.
Further overseas workforce reductions are likely, with Paramount Skydance planning to reveal full details in its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.
Previous updates suggested the company aimed to reduce from 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by early November.
By December 2024, Paramount retained about 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
The organization has not provided a response to a request for comment.
