Two Individuals Formally Indicted with Jail Killing of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder in the wake of the death in prison of ex-Lostprophets frontman and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 stand indicted for homicide and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Watkins, 48 years old, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after admitting a string of sex offences which included the effort to sexually assault an infant.

Watkins was taken into custody following a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were taken as evidence.
